Discovering Email Address via Internet Searches

The program may help you uncover prospect's email address.

The results from this process are highly subjective and you should be aware of the the spam laws and regulations that may apply before you use this information.

Using Google to search for email addresses

It is not uncommon to uncover an individual's email address through a simple search of the Internet. This is something that can be done manually using a search engine like Google and searching for

 FIRSTNAME + LASTNAME  + @DOMAIN

The domain looks like an abbreviated version of an organization's website. The website www.SoftwareOnSailboats.com has the domain softwareonsailboats.com.

So an example Google search might be:

 John + Doe + @softwareonsailboats.com

This Google search will look for three phrases - "John", "Doe", and "@softwareonsailboats.com" that are "near" each other on web pages.

Contact Management Software - call researchEmail Field's Embedded Search...with an email address in the field

If an email address is in the email failed, the embedded button will trigger a Google search for the email address. This can yield some surprisingly good information about your contact.

Email Field's Embedded Search Button...with no email address present

The program makes the task of searching for an email addressa little easier through the use of the InternContact Manager software - email address searchet email search button - the small button located next to the email address field in the Calling/Research form. It builds a Google search as described above. Pressing the email search button allows you to choose a domain or URL (like www.SoftwareOnSailboats.com or http://www.softwareonsailboats.com) and combines the domain information along with information from the First name field and the Last name field of the Call form to produce the Google search phrase FIRSTNAME LASTNAME @DOMAIN. So for example if your form has John in the First name field, and Doe in the Last name field, and you press the button and enter the URL www.MyCompany.com Desktop Campaign Manager will display the results of a Google search for John Doe @MyCompany.com. Hint: You can save a step by drag-and-dropping, typing, or cut/pasting a web site address or URL into the email field BEFORE pressing the Internet email search button. The program will then combine information in the First name field, Last name field, and the website or URL information in the email field to build a Google search.

Searching for personal email addresses from Google's Gmail, Yahoo's Hotmail, AOL and others...

The techniques employed by the program to uncover email addresses from the Internet are not very effective for email addresses like john.doe@gmail.com or bill47@hotmail.com. The search will uncover LOTS of these common email address. If you are trying to uncover John Doe's Hotmail address, an Internet search is likely to yield johnDoe42@hotmail.com, jDoe1958@hotmail.com, and many, many more. How do you know which is the John Doe you intended? It is beyond a bad idea to simple blast email to all these email address - in many countires it is against the law.
