Deal List

Deal Sorting

Deals can be sorted by any column by clicking on the column header. Clicking on a sorted column header reverses the sort order.

Sorting can make a group of Deals easy to select. For example, sorting by the Rating column can allow up to easily select the block of Deals with a Rating of 5.

Column Order and Visibility

The column order and visibility is controlled by the template and change by changed using the Sales Office Administrator editor.

Columns can be temporarily re-ordered by dragging them to the desired location. The re-ordering does not persist the next time the software is started.

Grouping The Name Column

When the Name column header is clicked for sorting, the Deals are grouped together and indexed.

Refresh

The Refresh button will cause the display to re-calculate and refresh the columns.

Reset Layout

Filtering Deals

Use filtering and show/hide to temporarily reduce the number of deals listed. By hiding extraneous deals, you can focus on the deals that suit your purpose. For example, you can work on deals that are past due through time period filtering.

Filtering does not remove or deleted any deals from your pipeline. It prevents some of them from being listed until you Reset.

Time Period

Time period filtering allows you to see deals within the previous, current, or next week, month, or quarter. The date used for time period can be the deal's creation date, last modified date, or expected order date. A common example would forecasting by showing the deals with expected booking dates within the current quarter. Another example would be to examine the progress made on recent deals by showing deals who's creation date fell within the previous month. Examine recent activity by looking at deals with modification dates that fall in the current week.

By Status

Status allows you to list deals with the status of interest. To focus on the deals that need to close you might only list deals that have the status of Contract - i.e. are in the negotiate-the-contract stage.

Progress

Progress allows you to list deals where the progress falls into ranges. The Progress gauge increments by 5, so the ranges are:

  • None or Starting: 0% to 20%
  • Some Progress: 25% to 50%
  • Good Progress: 55% to 75%
  • Final Stages: 80% to 95%
  • Completed: 100%

Search by Text

You may also show deals that contain text in any field or Journal. For example entering "Tom" would find a deal that had "Tom Jones" as the contact, "Tomahawk Missile" in a product field, and "Tomorrow" in the Journal. However, it would not find a deal with "Marble tombstone" since "tom" and "Tom" do not match.
