Backup and Restore

Backup

Backup creates a copy of all deals and contacts for each selected database.

  • The date of the backup is displayed in the column "BackedUp"
  • Backup overwrites any previous backup
  • Backups are initiated manually - they are not done automatically

Anyone with a connection to a database can perform a backup.

Restore

Restore copies backup deals and contacts into the current database. This erases any current deals and contacts in a database and replaces them with the deals and contacts from the backup.

Anyone with a connection to a database can restore a backup.

Clear

Clear on the Backup page empties the deal and contacts from the database backup.

  • The current deals and contacts in the database are not affected when clearing the backup.

Suggestions for protecting your deals and contacts

  • Backup databases via My @Cloud frequently.
  • Backup a database prior to uploading the latest version of the database from your personal computer - i.e. backup the "old" database and then upload the newer database.
  • Use Desktop Sales Office's Save As function for saving copies of your pipelines on your personal computer. For example, keep weekly copies like:
    • mydeals_2010_11_10.pipeline,
    • mydeals_2010_11_17.pipeline,
    • mydeals_2010_11_24.pipeline, etc....
