The Validation Type section allows you to select the type of input data validation to be performed by the Opportunity Entry program in the Sales Manager products. The selections and their input rules are as follows :
·Text – any alphanumeric characters allowed.
·Numeric – will accept any numeric characters or , or .
·Currency – will accept any numeric characters or , or .
·Percentage – will only accept numbers between 0 and 100
·Date – will accept a date from a 'calendar display' and will display as day, month, day number, year
·Logical true/false - the user will only be able to select from true or false (Note, if the Template Language is changed, these values will be changed as necessary for the appropriate foreign language)
·Logical yes/no - the user will only be able to select from yes or no (Note, if the Template Language is changed, these values will be changed as necessary for the appropriate foreign language)
·E-mail Address – will only accept a valid e-mail format. i.e. xxx@xxx.xxx
·Formula - an equation or formula using data fields, constants, and operators See the section on Formulas. Fields with Formula validation are always displayed in a text control.
·Telephone Number – will accept any numeric characters and - or ( or )
·International Telephone Number – will accept any numeric characters and - or ( or )
·Website Address - the user will only be able to select a valid website address of the form www.XXXXXXX.yyy. When that website is right clicked from within DSM, Windows will open the website with the chosen browser.
