What's New in Version 5?

Some of the new or improved features added to Version 5 are :
1.We have changed the contents of the standard Template. If you have any data that was created in Version 4 that you wish to retain and process in Version 5, you must use the supplied Template standardv4.sos to open these files.
2.The main Treeview display of the Pipeline is now sorted.
3.A number of cosmetic errors and 'things overlooked' in V4 have been corrected.
4.The Navigator has had a number of calculated pieces of information added, so that you may now sequence your Opportunities by Status, Revenue, Weighted Revenue and a number of the Sales Analysis categories.
5.We have added the ability to mark certain Opportunities as Watched so that you can pay more attention to them. These are indicated by different color icons on the Pipeline display.
6.We have added a specific Journal field where you may store up to 32,767 characters of history. This replaces a general Notes/Journal field on the old Template, thus freeing up one of the 20 standard fields while maintaining a capability everyone used.
7.The application will now work in Landscape display on a PDA with Pocket OS SE, as well as the previous Portrait mode. There is seamless switching between the two modes.
8.The application now interfaces directly to other parts of the Microsoft Outlook system than just the Contact information, and a user may generate Tasks and/or Appointments associated with the Opportunities.
9.A whole new set of screens and Opportunity information has been added to provide a novel and powerful Sales Analysis feature.
10.A Charting feature has been added that allows you to display Bar Charts and/or Pie Charts for certain sets of information. The Desktop Sales Manager contains a complete set of charting capabilities on all data fields.
11.The interface between the Pocket Outlook Contact system and the Opportunities was changed to a more sophisticated mapping strategy.
12.Minor change...we changed the 'Information' group in the Pipeline treeview display to be 'Properties'. We just thought it was more appropriate, that's all.
13.The 'Tap & Hold' function of the Pocket PC was used to implement a lot of the new features.
14.A Delete Won/Lost function to rapidly clean out Pipelines of Opportunities that are no longer active.
15.On the Desktop Sales Manager, in addition to a whole host of additional features etc., we have completely rewritten and enhanced all of the reports, and have shown some of the available reports in this manual.
16.We have completely revamped the Synchronization of PSM and DSM pipelines process between the Pocket PC and the desktop/laptop PC. What used to be a simple file 'copy', is now a complete record level merge/combine process.
