Reset Mailboxes

Caution! Resetting a mailbox not only changes the name and properties of a mailbox, it also deletes all of the pipeline sales information that is stored in the mailbox. Once deleted the sales information cannot be recovered. Use caution with any of the "reset mailbox" commands.

There are a few constants in selling - and one of them is that there is always change in sales organizations. Sales people change jobs. Sales organizations reorganize. You may wish to reset some or all of the sales mailboxes - often to reflect a job change or reorganization.

Resetting a mailbox or all mailboxes

Resetting a mailbox changes the information about the mailbox, and also empties any sales pipelines from the mailbox. The mailbox name, password, region and creation date are all reset to their default values. In addition, the mailbox is uncoupled from any parent mailboxes - the mailbox will not have a parent mailbox.

A change in sales staff - leaving sales pipelines in the mailbox

If you have new sales person calling in an existing sales territory you probably DON'T want to reset the mailbox. You may just want to change the password or perhaps both the mailbox name and password. This would leave any sales pipelines in the mailbox that the previous sales rep was working on, and allow a smoother transition to the new sales rep.

Downloading the pipelines prior to resetting a mailbox

If you are going to reset a mailbox, you may wish to download the sales pipelines from a mailbox before resetting the mailbox to avoid losing the sales information. Use the selection FILES --> OPEN PIPELINE FROM -> MAILBOX to open the pipeline, then FILES --> SAVE PIPELINE TO --> MAILBOX and supply the new mailbox number and password to save the pipeline.
