The following example assumes you are a sales executive for Rhythm and Blues Services - a mythical professional services company that provides equipment and services to the professional touring musician. The example pipeline is based upon the Standard template, and uses either the Eastern Area or Western Area example pipelines that were installed with this program.  
 
Through the Contacts you can save some time typing and "looking up", by having information from one of your Outlook contacts copied into your sales opportunity. This example will walk you through a simple example.

Let's start a new sales opportunity. We are talking with Sam Planta at Buffalo Productions about refurbishing a PA system that one of the bands that he manages is using. Create a new sales opportunity with the Opportunity Description "Refurbish Sound System"

An important reminder - this example is based upon the Standard template. The Standard template includes some "mappings" of Outlook information into the data fields below. For example, information from the Outlook field "Company Name" gets inserted into the program's "Company Name" field.

Sam Planta Outlook contact information happens to be in our Outlook Contact folders, so let's use the information that we have already typed into his Outlook contact record for this sales opportunity.

IN the Edit Opportunity form, click on the Contacts tab new the top of the form...

First we'll choose the Outlook folder that contains Sam's Contact record. On your computer, make your own selection of an Outlook Contact folder and contact... This is done in the left panel above...

Once you have chosen an Outlook contact folder on your computer, a list of contacts from that folder appears in the center panel. Touch the contact you are interested in. The information in the panel on the right is transferred to the sales opportunity as soon as the contact was touched.

To see the results, click on the Opportunity tab to return to the sales opportunity data fields. The fields marked below in red received information from the Outlook Contact that was selected.
