Opening sales pipelines from mailboxes

The following example assumes you are a sales executive for Rhythm and Blues Services - a mythical professional services company that provides equipment and services to the professional touring musician. The example pipeline is based upon the Standard template, and uses either the Eastern Area or Western Area example pipelines that were installed with this program.

A simple case of opening a sales pipeline

To open a pipeline from your mailbox, choose FILE --> OPEN PIPELINE FROM --> MAILBOX, and choose "Show all the pipelines....". Then check one pipeline that you wish to open.

More complex selection of pipelines

The pipeline selection area offers choices beyond listing all of the pipelines in your mailbox and then manually choosing one. You may automatically select the oldest or newest pipelines. Since you may have several 'versions' of the same pipeline stored, you may choose to select the oldest or newest version of each pipeline in your mailbox.

If you are a sales manager, you will see pipelines stored in your mailbox, but also you will see pipelines from your sales team. You may open any or all of the pipelines listed.

In the example below, the sales manager sees pipelines from mailboxes 2 and 3, and wishes to open a pipeline that is comprised of all the latest pipelines from the sales reps on the Rhythm and Blues sales team. This means opening the latest sales pipelines in mailboxes 2 and 3. The results are combined into a single pipeline.
