The New Opportunity command initiates the Edit Opportunity form and allows you to enter information about a new sales opportunity.

New Sales Opportunity

The New Opportunity command can be initiated from
·Opportunities Menu  
·Category Area - right click/pop-up menu  
List Area - right click/pop-up menu  
 
Edit A Sales Opportunity

The Edit Opportunity command initiates the Edit Opportunity form and allows you to enter or change information about a sales opportunity.

The Edit Opportunity command can be initiated from
·Opportunities Menu      
·Category Area - right click/pop-up menu      
·List Area - right click/pop-up menu      
·Double clicking on a sales opportunity in the List Area of a Pipeline Window      


Only the first field of a sales opportunity is required. The first field is used as a name for the sales opportunity, and must be present.

The sales opportunity is saved in the pipeline when you press the "Save" button. If the cancel button is pressed, the opportunity is not saved.

In addition to the sales information captured in a sales opportunity, the Desktop Sales Manager also tracks the creation date/time, last time modified, and user information, and other properties of the sales opportunity.

The various fields, lists, and checkboxes of the Edit Opportunity form are determined by the template selected. Several templates are included with the Desktop Sales Manager and additional custom templates can be created with the Template Manager.
