Entering A Sales Opportunity - In A Hurry

The sales executives for Rhythm and Blues Services are always on the go. They can use Pocket Sales Manager to keep their sales pipelines current while in the field, but often they just have a few precious minutes in the office to capture a sales opportunity in Desktop Sales Manager before the next call or meeting rushes in on them.

Sales Opportunities On-The-Fly

Our client Glove Love Productions mentioned in a phone call that they are going to begin recording sessions for a new CD very soon. Here at Rhythm and Blues Services we have state-of-the-art recording facilities that we would like them to consider for their sessions. We just have a spare moment to capture that opportunity before we forget about it in the flurry of the day - we can fill in a few more details later...

To enter a new sales opportunity into a pipeline, do the following:

If the program is not open, start the program and open your sales pipeline.

On the Opportunity tab, press "New"

All that is required to enter a sales opportunity is the first field - some sort of name that will help you remember what this sales opportunity is about. When using the B2B template, the first field is labeled "Opportunity Name". In this case, the sales opportunity is a recording session, so enter "Recording Session" as the name of the opportunity. That is all that is required - the opportunity can be saved right now if you like.

Since we have a large number of clients who might be considering recording sessions, let's also enter our client's company name - "Glove Love Productions" - so we can remember the organization with whom we should do our follow up activity.

Now press "Save" in the lower right corner of the Edit Opportunity form, and your opportunity is saved in your sales pipeline.
