Data Center
The Data Center is a shared Internet database operated by Software On Sailboats. For a monthly subscription companies can access a private post office within the Data Center. Using the Desktop Sales Manager, they can store, retrieve and share sales piplines from within the post office of the Data Center.
Information security and organization
Sales information stored within the Data Center is private and secure. Access to the data center via the Internet is verified through encrypted passwords. Information within the Data Center is kept private by segregating it into password protected post offices and mailboxes. Company "A" can only access information within their post office. Sales reps for Company "A" can only access their own password protected mailbox. Sales managers can only access information that is stored within the mailboxes of their sales team.
In the example above, Samson Steel's sales post office cannot be acces by any other company. The mailbox owner of "World Wide Sales" (perhaps the CEO or VP of Sales) can access information in any mailbox. The sales manager for North America can access USA West, USA Central, USA East, and Canda/Mexico, but cannot gain access to information within Europe or Asia/Pacific Rim mailboxes.
There is no capability for cascading post offices. That is to say post offices cannot be connected were linked to one another. If you choose to create more than one post office you can connect to either of them , but they cannot be linked.
