Clipboard

The Desktop Sales Manager can cut/copy/paste sales opportunities in its own clipboard. The clipboard serves as a holding area for cut, copy and paste operations. This clipboard does not interfere or interact in any way with the Windows clipboard - the one you might commonly use to cut & copy text between applications, etc.

More than one sales opportunity can be stored in the clipboard by using multiple selection in the list area. See Selecting Opportunities. Cutting or copying opportunities into the clipboard one-at-a-time also accrues the opportunities into the clipboard.

The clipboard area provides an excellent method for moving sales opportunities from one pipeline to another. Information can be cut or copied from one pipeline. When another pipeline is viewed, the sales opportunities can be pasted from the clipboard into the pipeline.

Cut removes sales opportunities from a pipeline and places it into the clipboard.

Copy duplicates sales opportunities, and places the cloned opportunities in the clipboard.

Paste copies the entire contents of the clipboard into the current pipeline and then empties the clipboard.

Windows Clipboard

The Windows clipboard is the portion of your computer's operating system that handles cut/copy/paste operations. Desktop Sales Manger will put name/company/address information into Windows clipboard via a button on the Opportunity Edit form's Action menu. A button on the same menu will also put all of the details of a sales opportunity into the Windows clipboard.
