You can create appointments from Desktop Sales Manager that are usable from both Outlook and Desktop Sales Manager.

Stored In Outlook

Desktop Sales Manager uses Outlook's database of appointments as it's own database for appointments. Therefore, appointments created by Desktop Sales Manager are available when you are using Outlook. Appointments created with Outlook are available from Desktop Sales Manager.

Linked Or Not Linked

One difference between appointments created from Desktop Sales Manager and appointments created in Outlook is that Desktop Sales Manager appointments can be (optionally) linked to sales opportunities. This allows easy connection between appointments and your deals.

Journaled

Another advantage to creating appointments with Desktop Sales Manager is that the appointments can be automatically Journaled - entered into the sales opportunity Journal. This provides a fast, painless way of tracking your activities for a sales deal.

Details Included

One additional advantage to creating appointments with Desktop Sales Manager is that all of the data, properties, and Journal information from your sales deal can be included in the body of the appointment. This information can be pretty handy when appointments are viewed from Outlook.
