Managing your campaigns
Previous  Top  Next

In the world of sales and marketing we have a vague shared common sense of a sales or marketing campaign – a series of focused communication activities designed to deliver a message and a call to action. The campaign's specific activities vary from campaign to campaign and might include advertising, direct mail, email, special events or sponsorships, seminars, webinars and a LOT more. It is certainly a simplification to designate a series of outbound documents, emails, and calls a campaign, but even a simple campaign has several elements:
·A target list of contacts to be contacted
·Planned messages or call to action to be delivered
·Implementation – the logistics of actually placing calls, sending emails, and measuring results

What is a campaign - for this program?
This program uses a much narrower and more focused concept of a campaign. A campaign is a data file. The intended use of a campaign datafile is to hold the information that an outbound campaign needs - a file that both provides calling scripts AND holds the results of their calls and activity. For each of your company's campaigns you would create a campaign datafile that contains the scripted messages of the campaign that you want the to deliver. The campaign file contains the campaign name, three scripts, and a log that holds call results. A campaign datafile has the Windows file extension .campaign and is an XML file – a structured text file.

Creating and editing the working campaign

The program always keeps a "working" campaign in memory.
·The working campaign is saved automatically when the program closes, or when you press Save. The working campaign is opened automatically when the program begins.
·You can create a new working campaign in the Campaign tab by selecting New.
·You can "export" your campaign using Save As.
·You can bring an existing campaign in as the working campaign from the Campaign tab by selecting Open.

Changing Scripts
To change the working campaign's scripts or results choose the Campaign tab. Select any of the three text radio buttons in the list and the script will be placed into the editing fields for your changes.
You MUST select the Campaign tab's Save button to save your editing changes into the working campaign.

Using campaign files to direct teams
The program can assist campaigns that involve a team – even if the team is remote.
1.   Create the working campaign that has the scripts for the campaign. Make sure that there are no results stored in the campaign - it is best to start with a new campaign and then create your scripts.
2.Define the Results from your campaign
3.Create a campaign file from your working campaign by selecting the Campaign tab --> Save As.
4.Email or give a copy of the campaign file to each team member to save on their computer.
5.The will use the campaign file you have given them selecting the Campaign tab --> Open. Your campaign is copied into their working campaign and they are ready to begin calling using the scripts you have provided.
